For all the women (and men) who put on their survivor caps today and got out of bed whether they felt like it or not... this is for you. You know who you are... you're a fighter! You may be battling cancer, chronic pain or maybe it's grief that's weighing you down. Perhaps you face terrible anxiety, fear, depression or insecurity... maybe you hate your job and didn't want to go today, maybe you're working two jobs to support your family... whatever it is, we are all battling something. Sometimes just getting out of the bed is the biggest battle. How do you get up when you don't feel you have anything to get up for? Or when your body hurts so badly that you just want to go back to sleep?
Life calls you... you have a decision to make, are you going to get up and participate? Are you going into the ring for another round? My mother had a saying when I was little and I didn't want to go to school. She would say, "sometimes we've got to do what we don't want to do." I didn't like that saying. I still don't like it, but she was right. There are a lot of things in life that we don't want to do but we do it anyway. It's called perseverance. We persevere, even in our troubles, believing that God will make it better--some how, some way he will make it better. And he does.
I love this little saying: "Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the floor each morning the devil says 'Oh crap, she's up!" Do you realize, if you're that kind of person then the devil is probably trying to keep you down? No wonder the battles you're facing. 1 Peter 5:8 says "Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour."
Give yourself a hand for getting up and getting going. The fact that you showed up is half the battle. God bless you on your journey today, he will help you be victorious!
